Uh Huh Oh Yeah

From Paul Weller's first solo album, his first solo single (I think - there was something out as the Weller Movement or something) is great. A slinky groove, I reckon, but I always feel that it has been ignored or forgotten and replaced in people's minds by the clearly inferior work he did on Wild Wood, Stanley Road, and whatever crap he's now churning out. Paul Weller's great songs can be counted on one hand: Changingman, Sunflower and Uh Huh Oh Yeah... frig... I got Wild Wood out of the library many years ago believing it was going to be great and it wasn't. It was very dull. But let's take nothing aware from the guy - the Jam were great, the Style Council had some cracking tunes as well, and Uh Huh Oh Yeah is terrific. It's a simple song based around a repetitive chord pattern. They hardly stray from the same three or four chords throughout.
Enjoy!

The Mook Radio

Found a groovy little thing from radio.blog. Look at the sidebar and you should see a little radio player. Not the greatest quality sounds, but I should be able to build a cool little playlist to allow you to sample some of the delights that I will talk about here.
